Within a region's season, timing still matters. School holidays, summer, spring break and the winter holidays, are the busiest and priciest. The shoulder weeks just before and after peak bring thinner crowds, calmer ships and better value, often with weather that is nearly as good.
In the Caribbean and Bahamas, late summer through autumn overlaps Atlantic hurricane season. Sailings still operate and reroute when needed, but travel insurance matters more in those months.
