Choosing a cabin without regret

Deck, position and category all change the experience — often more than the ship itself does.

The four categories

Interior, ocean view, balcony, suite. Interior is cheapest and surprisingly restful. Balcony is the upgrade most people say they'd repeat.

Position matters more than category

Mid-ship and lower decks feel steadiest in rough water. Cabins under the pool deck, buffet, theatre or nightclub can be genuinely noisy.

Obstructed views

Some balconies and windows are partially blocked by lifeboats or structure. They're cheaper for a reason — check the deck plan.

Connecting and family cabins

Limited in number and booked far ahead. If you need them, book earlier than you think.

Accessible cabins

Very limited, and they sell out long before general inventory. This is the strongest reason to book by phone rather than online.
